Homeserve plc - Directorate Changes
Homeserve plc announces that Jonathan Simpson-Dent, Chief Financial Officer, has decided to leave the business at the end of June 2009 to pursue other opportunities.
Jonathan will be replaced by Martin Bennett, Finance Director of Homeserve's UK Membership division. Martin joined Homeserve in 2003 as Commercial Director. He then became Finance Director of the Warranties business before being appointed as Finance Director of the UK Membership division in 2007. Prior to joining Homeserve he spent three years as Group Finance Director of Clarity Group and ten years at Arthur Andersen where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
Commenting on the change, Brian Whitty, Chairman, Homeserve plc, said:
"On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Jonathan for his significant contribution since joining the business in February 2007. With the UK business now purely focused on its Membership offering, and with HomeServe appropriately funded for future growth, Jonathan has decided that this is the right time to pursue other challenges. I would like to wish him every success for the future.
I am delighted that Martin will join the Board on 26 June 2009 as Chief Financial Officer. Martin brings with him considerable knowledge and experience of our UK Membership business and I look forward to working with him to continue the development of Homeserve's three membership divisions in the years to come."
Jonathan Simpson-Dent commented:
"I have enjoyed playing my part in HomeServe's development over the last couple of years. With a clearly focused strategy, a strong balance sheet and the Emergency Services disposal process resulting in a significantly simplified business, I feel that this is an appropriate time to seek new challenges in line with my personal goals and objectives. I wish Richard, Brian and the team well and know the business will go from strength to strength as a membership-focused business."
There are no disclosures to be made under rule 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules.
