Lewis(John) PLC25 April 2007 John Lewis plc Appointment of a new Managing Director of Waitrose The John Lewis Partnership announces the appointment of Mark Price as the newManaging Director of Waitrose. Mark joined the Partnership in 1982 and has heldseveral key roles in Waitrose, including Marketing Director and in 2000 wasappointed Director of Selling & Marketing with additional responsibility forretail operations. He has also held senior commercial roles in John Lewisincluding Managing Director of the High Wycombe and Cheadle stores. Mark is a board director of the John Lewis Partnership responsible for strategyincluding new business development, customer research and database, Greenbee andIT. He also co-ordinates the Partnership Business Plan and has executiveresponsibilities which support the Chairman. Mark will start his new role onMonday 30 April 2007. Steven Esom has decided to leave the Partnership to pursue other opportunities.
