GKN Board Appointment

The Board of GKN plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Tufan Erginbilgic as an independent non-executive Director with effect from 9 May 2011.

A Turkish/British national, Tufan Erginbilgic (age 51) is currently Chief Operating Officer for the Refining and Marketing division of BP plc with specific responsibility for the global lubricants, aviation and LPG businesses as well as all refining and fuels operations outside of the US. Tufan joined BP in 1997 and has held a number of senior marketing and operational roles, including Chief of Staff to the Group Chief Executive. His early career was spent at Mobil Oil. He has a bachelor's degree in Engineering from Istanbul Technical University, an MBA from Bosphorous University, Istanbul and an MA in Economics from Ohio State University.

Roy Brown, Chairman of GKN plc, said: "I am delighted to welcome Tufan to the Board. His experience of the global energy industry will bring a relevant but distinctive perspective to the Board".

On appointment, Tufan will become a member of the Audit, Remuneration and Nominations Committees of the Board.

There are no other matters to be disclosed under paragraph 9.6.13R of the Financial Services Authority's Listing Rules.
