The board of directors of Close Brothers Group plc ("Close Brothers" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Tesula Mohindra as an independent non-executive director with effect from 15 July 2021.
On joining the board, Tesula will become a member of the board's Audit and Risk Committees. At the same time, and consistent with the Company's other independent non-executive directors, she will also become a director of the Company's Banking subsidiary, Close Brothers Limited.
Tesula has over 25 years' experience in the financial sector. She qualified as a chartered accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers, and has since held senior executive and advisory roles in the banking, insurance and pension fund sectors. She has deep financial and commercial expertise gained in a broad range of organisations, from investment banks to start-ups.
Tesula was previously a Managing Director at JP Morgan and at UBS, specialising in corporate finance for financial institutions and pension fund risk management. She was also a founding member of the management team of Paternoster, the specialist bulk annuity insurer, where she was Business Development Director and a member of the Executive Committee. Since then she has worked as an independent financial consultant advising on business plans and capital raising. Tesula is also an independent non-executive director on the board of NHBC (National House-Building Council) and a trustee of Variety, the Children's Charity.

No other information is required to be disclosed pursuant to paragraph 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules in relation to Tesula's appointment as a director of Close Brothers.
