The Board of Spectris plc (SXS: LSE), the expert in providing insight through precision measurement, today announces that Russell King, Non-Executive Director will retire from the Board on 22 May 2020, ahead of the 2020 AGM.

Russell King was appointed as a Non-executive Director and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee in October 2010 and has held the position of Senior Independent Director since January 2015. Russell King was also appointed as the Workforce Engagement Director in 2018.

Mark Williamson, Chairman, commented: "I would like to take this opportunity to recognise Russell's pivotal contribution to the Board over the past nine years. He will be greatly missed by the Board from both a personal and professional perspective."

In accordance with paragraph 9.6.11R of the Listing Rules, the Board is pleased to announce that Cathy Turner will be appointed as the Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and Bill Seeger will be appointed as the Senior Independent Director, with effect from 1 March 2020. Kjersti Wiklund became the Company Workforce Engagement Director with effect from 1 January 2020.
