Candover Investments plc - Appointment of non-executive director

Candover Investments plc today announces that Lord Jay of Ewelme has been appointed as a non executive director with effect from 1 January 2008.

Lord Jay is a former Permanent Under-Secretary at the Foreign Office and Head of the Diplomatic Service (2002 - 2006), having previously served as British Ambassador to France (1996 - 2001). He was former Prime Minister Tony Blair's personal representative to the G8 Summits in 2005 and 2006. He is a non executive director of Associated British Foods plc in the UK, and Credit Agricole and Valeo in France.

Gerry Grimstone, Chairman of Candover Investments plc, said:

"We are delighted to welcome Michael Jay on to the board. His distinguished civil service career and his subsequent commercial experience give him unrivalled insight and expertise in international affairs which will be invaluable to Candover as we develop our business further."

There is no further information to be disclosed under paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules issued by the Financial Services Authority.

Lord Jay does not hold any shares in Candover Investments plc or any interests in any such shares.
