Balfour Beatty PLC06 June 2006 6th June 2006 BALFOUR BEATTY PLC ================== Balfour Beatty, the international engineering, construction and services group,announces today that Jim Cohen, Group Managing Director with responsibility forRail, is to retire from the Group on 18 February 2007 when he will be 65 and hewill resign from the Board at that time. He joined the group in 1993, initially to help develop the Group's business inAsia. He has held Board responsibility for Rail since 1996 and, from 1994 to2005, for the development of the group's PPP Investments business. Jim Cohen's responsibilities as Group Managing Director - Rail will be taken upby Manfred Leger, currently Managing Director of Balfour Beatty Rail PowerSystems, the German-based rail electrification project business. Herr Legerjoined Balfour Beatty when it acquired the electrification project business ofAdtranz in December 2001.
