NEWCASTLE BUILDING SOCIETY MAKES TWO NON-EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENTS
Newcastle Building Society (NBS) has made two new Non-Executive appointments with Phil Moorhouse and John Morris joining its main Board.
Mr Moorhouse, from Newcastle, is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and former Managing Director (UK) of Northgate plc, he also sits on the Boards of Molins Plc, Renew (North East) Ltd and Cumbria NHS Partnership Trust.
Mr Morris, from Wakefield, worked for several years as the Head of Finance for the Retail Division at HBOS plc and prior to that he worked at Halifax and Leeds Permanent Building Society, as well as KPMG. He is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
David Holborn, NBS' Chairman, said: "These two Board appointments are significant ones for our organisation. Their extensive working knowledge of both the business and financial world bolsters the strength of our Board even further. They have both excelled in their areas of expertise and we look forward to the support they will bring to the Society's main Board."
The appointments are applicable from 31st October 2011.
NBS also announces the retirement of Nigel Westwood as a Non-Executive member from its Board at the end of this year. Mr Westwood joined Universal Building Society's Board in 2000 and has been a member of the Newcastle's Board since the merger with the Universal in 2006.
