Alternative Networks announces that James ('Jim') Sewell, Chief Strategy Officer and PLC Director has resigned and will leave the business on 30 April 2014. He intends to pursue a broader set of interests including increasing his support for charities, such as Restless Development, where he is a Trustee. Mr Sewell joined the business shortly after its inception in October 1994 and has led the Group's sales teams for most of his time with Alternative. He has been a Board member continuously since the AIM listing in February 2005.

The Board has been able to plan carefully for Jim's departure and in December 2013 and January 2014 made key appointments in senior sales management positions.

Edward Spurrier, Chief Executive Officer, commented:

"Jim has been an ever-present and has spearheaded Alternative's sales team for many years. He has been a key driver of the Group's organic growth, particularly in the earlier years. Although we will undoubtedly miss his infectious enthusiasm and commitment, as a result of the business's succession planning we have recently made a number of senior sales appointments that enables Jim to leave in the knowledge that there has never been such strength in depth in the sales and client management teams."
