China Goldmines plc ('the Company')
Directorate Change
China Goldmines today announces that Clive Donner has stepped down from the Board with immediate effect. On 27 August 2009 the Company set out its commitment to appoint a UK-based chairman at around the time of its Annual General Meeting. The Company having identified suitable candidates, Mr Donner has confirmed his intentions to reduce his Board positions.
The Company anticipates making a further announcement on appointments to the Board shortly.
In light of the changes to the composition of the Board the Company has decided to withdraw Resolution 8, seeking approval of the Company's investing policy, from the AGM to be held on Friday 18 December. The new Board will address a revised investing policy as a matter of priority.
Mr Frank Vanspeybroeck thanked Mr Donner for his "considerable contributions to the Company" since incorporation. "He has provided a constant source of leadership and support to the executive directors and has brought to the Company his significant experience of running mining companies."
"On behalf of the Board, and the wider Company, I would like to thank Mr Donner for his service and wish him well for the future".
