DIRECTORSHIP CHANGE - APPOINTMENT
The Board of Blue Planet Financials Growth & Income Investment Trusts No 1-10 plc ("the Company") is pleased to announce effective today, the appointment of the Rt Hon Lord Steel of Aikwood as a non-executive Director
The Rt Hon Lord Steel of Aikwood, aged 73, was a Member of the Scottish Parliament and held the office of Presiding Officer (retiring in June 2003). He was a Member of Parliament from 1965 to 1997 and on his retiral was created a life peer. David Steel was leader of the Liberal Party from 1976 to 1988 and co-founded the Liberal Democrats with Roy Jenkins. A former British parliamentary delegate to the Council of Europe, in the 1989 European Parliamentary elections he was the first national of one country to stand in another member state, in the Central Region of Italy. He was President of Liberal International from 1994-96. He holds honorary doctorates from ten universities including his alma mater, the University of Edinburgh, was created a Privy Counsellor in 1977, knighted in 1990, awarded the Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit (Germany) in 1992, made a Chevalier de Legion d'Honneur of France and a Knight of the Thistle in 2004. He serves as a non-executive Director on boards of other companies including General Mediterranean Holding S.A which is listed in Luxembourg and is a former Director of Blue Planet International Financials Investment Trust plc.
No further information is required to be disclosed in respect of Rt Hon Lord Steel of Aikwood pursuant to LR 9. 6.13R (1) to (6).
