Alba Chief Operating Officer Moh'd Mahmood to retire after more than three decades of service to the company
·; Alba Chief Operating Officer, Moh'd Mahmood will be retiring after 38 years at Alba.
·; Chief Supply Chain Officer Isa Al Ansari will be taking over the responsibilities currently under the purview of the Chief Operating Officer.
·; Moh'd Mahmood played a key role in the growth and development of Alba's community service initiatives.
Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba)'s Chief Operating Officer, Moh'd Mahmood will be retiring after 38 years of loyal service to Alba. His retirement will take effect at the end of January 2011.
Isa Ansari - Chief Supply Chain Officer --- will be taking over the responsibilities currently under the purview of the Chief Operating Officer from Thursday, January 13, 2011 on an acting basis until the appointment of a permanent Chief Operating Officer is made.
Moh'd Mahmood joined Alba in 1973 as an operator, and rose through the ranks to the position of Manager Process Control. He went on to the position of Manager Human Resources, then General Manager Metal Production, and finally, to his last role as Chief Operating Officer.
Commenting on Moh'd Mahmood's retirement, Alba's Chief Executive Laurent Schmitt said:
"Moh'd Mahmood's loyalty and dedication to the growth and development of Alba, and support to the welfare of the local community have been the hallmark of his career. He has been a key player in the company's transformation from being a pioneering smelter in the region to the global player that it is today."
Chief Supply Chain Officer Isa Al Ansari, a Bahraini national, who will be taking over the responsibilities of Chief Operating Officer on an acting basis, joined Alba in 1983 as an apprentice and rose through the ranks. In his previous position as Procurement Manager, he gained extensive experience in Logistics, Maintenance Planning, Project Execution & Materials Management, and considerable expertise in Procurement, Inventory control and Warehouse Management.
