SIG PLC APPOINTS NEW NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

SIG plc ("SIG"), a leading European specialist supplier of insulation, exteriors, interiors and specialist construction products, announces that it has appointed Mr Leslie Van de Walle, aged 54, as an independent Non-Executive Director with effect from 1 October 2010.

Mr Van de Walle is currently a Non-Executive Director of Aviva plc. He was previously Chief Executive Officer of Rexam plc and a Non-Executive Director of Aegis Group plc.

He has held a variety of other senior executive roles, including Executive Vice President of Retail for Oil Products and Head of Oil Products, Shell Europe, for Royal Dutch Shell plc. He has also held a number of senior management positions with Cadbury Schweppes plc and United Biscuits plc.

There are no matters which require disclosure in respect of Mr Van de Walle in accordance with LR9.6.13 (2) to (6) of the Listing Rules.
