Hambledon Mining PLC02 April 2007 PRESS INFORMATION 2nd April 2007 HAMBLEDON MINING PLC DIRECTORATE CHANGES Hambledon Mining plc ("Hambledon" or the "Group" or the "Company"), the AIM-listed mining and exploration company developing precious metal deposits inKazakhstan, announces that Baurzhan Yerkeyev, who joined the Company in 2004,has joined the Board as Executive Director. Alzhan Shomaev, who jointly foundedthe Company and has been a Non-executive Director since flotation in 2004, hasstepped down from the Board to pursue his other business interests withimmediate effect. Mr Yerkeyev, aged 41, joined Hambledon initially as Chief Geologist beforebecoming Project Director and then Executive Director of the mining operatingsubsidiary TOO Sekisovskoye. In 2006 he was also appointed Executive Director ofTOO Altai Kenbai-Itu, the subsidiary formed to own, build and operate theprocessing plant at Sekisovskoye. Baurzhan is an experienced geologist, with extensive knowledge of Kazakhstan,the CIS and the Altai Region (where Sekisovskoye is located). He has managedprojects for the State Geophysical-Geochemical Expedition and the StateExploration Expedition. Before joining Hambledon, he was a director of CRS, theCompany's geological consultants. At Sekisovskoye, the company is mining from an open pit and constructing an850,000 tonnes per year treatment plant. Production from the open pit willaverage over 40,000 ounces per annum, rising to around 100,000 ounces when thehigher grade underground ore is added to the feed.
