The Board of Wm Morrison Supermarkets PLC ("Morrisons") is delighted to announce the appointment of Neil Davidson as a non-executive director. He will join the Board on 1st October 2015.

Neil has had an extensive career in food manufacturing, starting with Northern Foods Plc where he rose to become Managing Director of its milk division. He subsequently became CEO of Express Dairies Plc and then Arla Foods UK Plc, both suppliers to Morrisons. He has also been a non-executive director of Persimmon Plc and Northern Recruitment Group Plc. He is currently a non-executive director of Produce Investments Plc and Chair of The Cricketer Publishing Ltd.

The Board also confirms that after six years on the Board, Penny Hughes has decided to stand down at the end of this calendar year as a natural part of planned Board succession. Neil will succeed Penny as Chair of the Morrisons Corporate Compliance and Responsibility Committee, after a suitable handover.

In relation to the appointment, it is confirmed that there are no further details to be disclosed under paragraphs 9.6.13(1) to (6) of the Listing Rules.
