David Harding appointed Chairman of Manchester Building Society
Manchester Building Society is pleased to announce that David Harding, the former Chairman of Coventry Building Society, has agreed to become Chairman of the Society. This follows the decision of Michael Prior to step down after four years in the role.
David Harding became Chairman of Coventry Building Society in 2005, having joined the Board in 1996 and becoming Deputy Chairman in 1999. He stepped down from the post last year. David has had a broad career in finance, being previously the finance director of Railtrack plc, T&N plc and Senior Independent Director of Enterprise Inns plc. He was also Chairman of PD Ports plc until 2006. David is currently a non-executive director of the Royal Mint.
He said: "I am pleased to accept this new role and look forward to working with the team at the Manchester on the Society's development. I would like to thank Michael for his contribution to the Society since he joined the Board in 2005, including his four years as Chairman"
