Cobham Chief Executive to Retire 31 December 2009
Allan Cook has announced his intention to retire from Cobham as Chief Executive and member of the Board following his 60th birthday in September 2009. It has been agreed with Allan that his retirement will take effect on 31 December 2009 to ensure an orderly succession. The Board is reviewing internal succession candidates and in accordance with best practice, a search process is also underway for suitably qualified external candidates.
Allan Cook said:
"I have decided to retire from Cobham at the end of the year, after nine years with the Company, the last eight as Chief Executive. I am proud to have been associated with such a fantastic company, which has great people, products, services and management team, with an exciting future."
David Turner, Chairman, said:
"Allan has had an outstanding career with Cobham, having joined as Deputy Chief Executive in December 2000 and becoming Chief Executive in November 2001. I would like to thank Allan for his committed and dedicated leadership. As a result, Cobham has a strong financial performance, a talented management team and enhanced international profile. The Board wishes Allan the greatest success as he sets about the next phase of his career and I look forward to working with him to ensure an orderly and effective succession."
