DEPUTY CEO AND FINANCE DIRECTOR TO LEAVE NEWCASTLE BUILDING SOCIETY

Newcastle Building Society announces that Deputy CEO and Finance Director, Angela Russell, has decided to leave the Society after 16 years of service. She will step down from the Board in April 2018.

Angela became Finance Director in 2010 and has played a key role in the Society's improving financial performance and wind-down of legacy assets following the financial crisis. Angela now wishes to pursue other opportunities of a non-executive nature.

Andrew Haigh, Chief Executive of Newcastle Building Society said, "We would like to thank Angela for her substantial contribution to the Society and Group, through what has been a very challenging period for the whole financial services industry. Angela has helped the Society deliver improved financial performance and security while being a strong supporter of mutuality. We wish her all the best for the future."
