Source BioScience plc the provider of expert, quality services and products to the healthcare, pharma biotech and life sciences research sectors, today announces the following changes to the Board of Directors.
The Board is delighted to announce that Dr Nick Leaves, currently Head of Operations, will join the Board as Operations Director with immediate effect. Nick joined Source BioScience in July 2007 following the acquisition of Geneservice Limited (`Geneservice') where he was Operations Director. Since joining the Group, Nick has been a key member of the Executive Management team and has been instrumental in the successful integration of the Geneservice and Source BioScience operational activities.
Prior to the spin out of Geneservice from the Medical Research Council (`MRC') in 2005, Nick worked for four years as DNA sequencing production manager on high-throughput sequencing projects for the MRC and before that for five years on asthma and eczema gene association projects at Oxford University. Nick trained as a Microbiologist in the NHS and completed his PhD on molecular biomarkers in meningitis.
Dr Tom Weaver, Commercial Director, will be leaving the Company at the end of August to take up a senior position within the MRC. Tom joined the Board in July 2007, following the acquisition of Geneservice. The Board would like to thank Tom for his valuable contribution toward the successful integration of Geneservice over the past year and wish him every success on his return to the MRC.

Dr Leaves holds 828,557 shares in the Company representing 0.4% of the current issued share capital. No information falls to be disclosed pursuant to paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules in respect of the appointment of Dr Leaves to the Board of Directors.
