Deanna Oppenheimer to join Worldpay Group plc Board

 

Deanna Oppenheimer is to join the Worldpay Group plc Board as an independent non-executive director and chair of the Risk Committee. Her appointment takes effect from 1 January 2016.

Deanna is currently a non-executive director of Tesco PLC, where she chairs the remuneration committee, Tesco Bank, AXA Group, and NCR Corporation. Additionally, she is a senior advisor to Bain & Company.

Welcoming the appointment, Worldpay's Chairman Sir Michael Rake, said: "I am delighted to welcome Deanna to Worldpay. She is one of the leading women in international finance and her combination of banking, retail, innovation, brand and communication skills will be invaluable to Worldpay."

Worldpay Group plc confirms that there is no further information required to be disclosed pursuant to paragraph 9.6.13 of the UK Listing Rules.

 

Deanna Oppenheimer biography

Deanna is founder and Chief Executive Officer of CameoWorks LLC, a retail and financial services advisory firm. She is a non-executive director for Tesco PLC, Tesco Bank, NCR Corporation and AXA Group. Additionally, she is a senior advisor to Bain & Company.

Previously, Deanna worked at Barclays PLC where she transformed the Global Retail and Business Banking divisions. She most recently served as vice chair, Global Retail Banking at Barclays, where she was also chief executive officer of UK and Western Europe Retail Banking.

Prior to Barclays Deanna worked from 1985 to 2005 at Washington Mutual, Inc. She was marketing director and, later, president of Consumer Banking, where she helped transform the lender from a regional to a national player.

In 2007, Deanna was named Britain's Business Communicator of the Year and in 2010 was voted American Banker magazine's Second Most Powerful Woman in Banking. In 2014, Deanna was voted one of Puget Sound Business Journal's Women of Influence, and recently she was awarded the Lifetime Achievement award by the Inspiring Leadership Trust in London.

Deanna is married with two adult children, and was educated at the University of Puget Sound in Washington State.
