MTR Corporation Ltd06 November 2007 MTR CORPORATION LIMITED (the "Company") (Incorporated in Hong Kong with limited liability) (Stock code: 66) Change of Alternate Directors The Company is pleased to announce that Mr. Ying Yiu-hong has been appointed asan Alternate Director to Professor Chan Ka-keung, Ceajer (Secretary forFinancial Services and the Treasury), non-executive Director of the Company,with effect from 5 November 2007. Mr. Ying has taken over the post of thePermanent Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury (Treasury) ("PS forFS&T(Treasury)") from Mr. Alan Lai Nin with effect from the same date. Mr. Ying (aged 47) has not entered into any contract of service with the Companynor is he appointed for a specific term. He does not receive any emoluments fromthe Company. Mr. Ying was not a director of any company listed on The Stock Exchange of HongKong Limited (the "Stock Exchange") during the past three years. Mr. Ying has served in various bureaux and departments of the Government of theHong Kong Special Administrative Region (the "Government") since 1983. Beforejoining the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau, he was the PermanentSecretary for Security. He is a graduate of the University of Hong Kong, andholds a degree of Bachelor of Social Sciences. Mr. Ying is not related to any Directors, senior management or substantial orcontrolling shareholders of the Company except that he holds the post of the PSfor FS&T(Treasury) in the Government, and The Financial Secretary Incorporatedwhich holds shares in the Company in trust for the Government, is a controllingshareholder of the Company. As at the date of this announcement, Mr. Ying is notinterested in any shares of the Company within the meaning of Part XV of theSecurities and Futures Ordinance ("SFO") as recorded in the register required tobe kept under section 352 of the SFO or as otherwise notified to the Company andthe Stock Exchange pursuant to the Model Code for Securities Transactions byDirectors of Listed Issuers. In respect of the appointment of Mr. Ying, there is no other information whichis discloseable nor is/was he involved in any of the matters required to bedisclosed pursuant to any of the requirements of the provisions of rules 13.51(2)(h) to (v) of the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on the StockExchange, and there is no other matter relating to his appointment which needsto be brought to the attention of the shareholders of the Company. The Company hereby also announces that Mr. Alan Lai Nin ceased to be anAlternate Director to Professor Chan Ka-keung, Ceajer with effect from 5November 2007. There is no matter relating to his ceasing to be an AlternateDirector of the Company that needs to be brought to the attention of theCompany's shareholders. He also ceased to hold the post of the PS for FS&T(Treasury) with effect from the same date.
