BBA Aviation plc today announces the following Board changes:
Andrew Wood will be retiring as Group Finance Director at the AGM on 29 April 2010. Following a detailed selection process, the Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Hoad, currently Group Financial Controller, to the position of Group Finance Director and to the Board with effect from that date.
Mark Hoad has served as Group Financial Controller since joining BBA Aviation in May 2005. He joined from RMC Group plc where he worked in a number of finance roles both domestically and overseas. This included periods in Germany, Croatia and latterly Australia, where he was Chief Financial Officer of the ASX-listed company Adelaide Brighton. Mark is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
John Roques, having served as a non-executive director since 1999, will retire from the Board on 29 April 2010. He will be succeeded as Senior Independent Director by Nick Land, and as Chairman of the Nomination Committee by Michael Harper.
Simon Pryce, Chief Executive Officer, said,
"I would like to thank Andrew for his invaluable contribution to BBA Aviation over the last nine years. He has played a critical role in the evolution of the business from a broadly based conglomerate to a focused aviation services and aftermarket business, as well as in the Company's recent strong relative performance despite the challenging trading environment that we have experienced over the last two years.
I am delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Hoad as Group Finance Director. BBA Aviation is well positioned to take advantage of a cyclical recovery in the majority of its markets and has exciting long term growth prospects. Mark's talent, prior experience and thorough knowledge of the BBA Aviation businesses make him ideally suited to the role and to supporting the effective execution of our strategy to deliver long term sustainable value for BBA Aviation's stakeholders."
Michael Harper, Chairman, said:
"On behalf of the Board, I wish to thank John for his considerable contribution to BBA Aviation. John's insight and sound judgment have made him a valued member of the Board and a very effective Senior Independent Director and Chairman of the Nomination Committee. In particular, John's significant input as the previous Chairman of the Audit Committee was of huge value to the Board. We wish John all the best for the future."
There are no details which need to be notified under paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules.
The company will announce its preliminary results for the year ended 31 December 2009 on 25 February 2010.
