Balfour Beatty PLC31 May 2006 31st May 2006 Balfour Beatty Plc - Non-Executive Directors ============================================= Balfour Beatty, the international engineering construction and services groupannounces today the appointment of two new Non-Executive Directors with effectfrom 1st July 2006. Mike Donovan, who is 53, has an engineering background and was most recentlyChief Operating Officer of Marconi plc from 2001 to 2005, having previously beenChief Executive Officer of Marconi Systems. Prior to his time at Marconi he wasresponsible for managing major divisions of British Aerospace, Vickers and theRover Group. Much of this experience has involved management responsibility formajor enterprises in the US, where he resides. Stephen Howard, also 53, and a lawyer by background was most recently GroupChief Executive of Novar plc. Prior to that he had a long successful career withthe Cookson Group plc, the last seven years as Chief Executive. He is aNon-Executive Director of Slough Estates and is Managing Director of Business inthe Community. Balfour Beatty also announces that Chalmers Carr, who has been a Non-ExecutiveDirector since 2003, is to retire from the board on 31st August 2006, the expiryof his three year appointment.
