Appointment of Director
The Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Paul Rew as a non-executive director on the Boards of the Company and of Northumbrian Water Limited ("NWL") with effect from 1 October 2010.
Mr Rew, a chartered accountant, was a partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP ("PwC") from 1987 until March 2010. He was lead partner for a diverse range of FTSE100 clients and led PwC's UK energy, utilities and mining sector practice. Most recently, he was PwC's sustainability and climate change assurance leader and renewables leader. He is a non-executive director of both the Met Office and the Sustainable Development Commission and chairs their Audit Committees.
Sir Derek Wanless, Chairman of the Company, said "We are delighted to be welcoming Paul, who brings first class finance skills and experience and particular expertise in sustainability. These attributes and his all-round understanding of business make him an excellent addition to our two principal Boards".
The Company confirms that there is no information to be disclosed in accordance with LR9.6.13 points (1) to (6). At the date of this notification, Mr Rew holds no shares in the Company.
