Gulfsands Petroleum PLC01 February 2006 Gulfsands Petroleum Plc ("Gulfsands" or "The Company") Directorate Change Gulfsands Petroleum PLC (Symbol GPX), the Aim listed oil and gas exploration,development and production company with activities in the USA, Syria and Iraq,announces that its non-executive chairman, John Bolsover has resigned as adirector of the Company with effect from 31 January 2006. Mutually acceptableterms have been agreed. The Board is presently considering the appointment of a new chairman and expectsto be able to make an announcement in the near future. John Bolsover said: "This decision was taken because we found we had different management approachesand styles which have proved difficult to reconcile."
