London - Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation PLC ('ENRC' or 'the Group'is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Zaure Zaurbekova as an executive Director and Chief Financial Officer ('CFO') with effect from 30 September 2009.

Ms Zaurbekova has been CFO Kazakhstan since 2001. From late 2007, she was Deputy CFO of ENRC and has been Acting CFO since the departure of Miguel Perry in June 2009.

Dr Johannes Sittard, Chairman said, "I am delighted to welcome Zaure to the Board and congratulate her on her appointment as Chief Financial Officer. She has great knowledge of the company and has done an excellent job as acting CFO over the past few months."

There are no further details that are required to be disclosed in respect of his appointment under LR 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules of UK Listing Authority.

Notes to Editors

From 1995 Ms Zaurbekova has been Finance Director and, later, till 2001 first Vice-President of Kazchrome Company. 

Prior to joining ENRC, Ms Zaurbekova worked in the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan where she was directly involved in the development of the industrial policy and tax legislation of Kazakhstan. Ms Zaurbekova began her career in the Kazakh Research Institute of Automation of Planning.

Ms Zaurbekova holds a Bachelors degree in applied mathematics from the Kazakh State University and in economics and management from the Kazakh Market Institute. In addition, she has a PhD in Economics and is a full member of the Academy of Mineral Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
