John Menzies plc today announces that after eight years on the Board Iain Napier, Chairman, has informed the Company of his wish to retire, in line with the reduction of his other plc responsibilities. He will therefore step down following the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting to be held on 20 May 2016.

Dermot Jenkinson, currently a non-executive Director of the Group, will become Interim Chairman and will run the process to appoint a permanent successor. Dermot has significant experience of the John Menzies Group and has held a number of other Board positions in his career. 

Dermot Jenkinson commented:

"The Board would like to thank Iain for his considerable contribution to the John Menzies business and Board over the last eight years. He has marshalled us through significant periods of change over his tenure with great skill and experience. We wish him the very best for the future."

A further update on the succession process will follow at the appropriate time. The Group will report its scheduled trading update ahead of its AGM on 20 May 2016.
