RPC Group Plc ("RPC"), Europe's leading rigid plastic packaging supplier, announces today that Ron Marsh, Chief Executive, has notified the board of his intention to retire from the Group with effect from 1 October 2013. Pim Vervaat, Finance Director, will assume the role of Chief Executive from the same date.

Ron led the buy-out of RPC in 1991 and has been the Chief Executive since its flotation in 1993 and so has been responsible for shaping and leading the RPC Group for over 20 years. Pim joined RPC as Finance Director in 2007 having previously worked as divisional Finance Director of the Corus Distribution and Building Systems division.

Ron and Pim worked closely together to drive the RPC 2010 programme and subsequent acquisition and integration of Superfos, which has seen RPC grow to join the ranks of the FTSE-250. Ron and Pim will work together over the next 12 months to ensure an orderly transition of the Chief Executive role.
