Aberdeen Asset Management PLC ("Aberdeen" or "the Company") announces that Gerhard Fusenig has been appointed as an independent non-executive director of the Company with effect from 25 April 2016. Over the last 25 years Gerhard held a number of senior management roles in asset management at Credit Suisse Group AG and UBS AG. He previously served as non-executive director on the Board of Aberdeen between 2009 and 2012 following the agreement entered into by Aberdeen with Credit Suisse in 2008. Gerhard stepped down from the Board when Credit Suisse sold its Aberdeen shareholding and subsequently left Credit Suisse in 2013.
Further to the statement on 27 January, Aberdeen announces that Jim Pettigrew has, with effect from 22 April 2016, resigned as a non-executive director of the Company. Jim joined the Board in April 2010 and was Chairman of the Audit Committee. The Company would like to place on record the Board's appreciation and thanks for Jim's valued contribution and commitment to Aberdeen over the past six years.
Jutta af Rosenborg, an independent non-executive director since January 2013, succeeds Jim as Chairman of the Audit Committee and will also join the Risk Committee.
The Company confirms that there is no further information to be disclosed under LR 9.6.13.
