Philip Cox appointed Meggitt non-executive director
Meggitt PLC, a leading international company specialising in high performance components and sub-systems for the aerospace, defence and energy markets, is pleased to announce the appointment of Philip Cox as a non-executive director of the Company with immediate effect.
Philip, who is a Chartered Accountant, is currently the Chief Executive Officer of International Power plc, having joined the company as Chief Financial Officer in 2000. International Power completed a successful $21.5bn merger with GDF Suez Energy International in 2011. Prior to joining International Power, Philip was Senior Vice President for Operational Planning at Invensys plc, and Finance Director of Siebe PLC.
Between 2001 and 2009, Philip was non-executive director and Chairman of the Audit Committee for Wincanton plc, the logistics and supply chain management group, becoming Senior Independent Director in 2008. He stood down from Wincanton in 2009 to become a non-executive director of Wm Morrison Supermarkets PLC. Philip is also a non-executive director of Tractebel Energia SA, the largest private electricity provider in Brazil (majority owned by GDF Suez).

Meggitt PLC confirms that there are no further details to disclose under paragraph 9.6.13 (2) to (6) of the Listing Rules in relation to Philip Cox.
