As referred to in the Chairman's Statement of JPMorgan European Investment Trust plc's (the "Company") Annual Report and Financial Statements to 31st March 2021 released on 3rd June 2021, the Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Alexander Lennard as an independent Non-executive Director of the Company with effect immediately after the Company's Annual General Meeting on 8th July 2021. The appointment was made after a thorough selection process undertaken with the assistance of a third party independent search consultancy.

Alexander Lennard has had a 15-year career at Ruffer LLP and is currently the Head of Institutional Investment team. He has deep experience across global assets, including equities, fixed income and alternatives.

Alexander Lennard does not currently hold any shares in the Company. No further information is to be disclosed in respect of paragraphs 9.6.13 (2) - (6) of the Financial Conduct Authority's Listing Rules for Alexander Lennard.

Commenting on the appointment of Alexander Lennard, Josephine Dixon, the Company's Chairman, said:

"Alex is a highly experienced and well regarded Head of Institutional Investment with broad experience of the European equities market. He will make an excellent addition to the Board at a time when the Company is well positioned to continue its recovery in volatile markets."

In line with the Company's Board Succession plan, Stephen Goldman will be standing down as a Director on or before the end of the Company's current financial year.
