Intertek Group PLC21 December 2005 21 December 2005, 7am (UK) Intertek Group plc ("Intertek") INTERTEK ANNOUNCES NEW NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Intertek is pleased to announce the appointment of Debra Rade as a Non-ExecutiveDirector of Intertek Group plc with effect from 1 January 2006. Debra Rade is currently a Partner in Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, a majornational US law firm, whose principal office is based in Chicago, with a Londonaffiliate, Katten Muchin Rosenman Cornish LLP. Debra's practice focusesprimarily on corporate governance and compliance, as well as product safety andregulatory compliance. From 1987 to 2002, Debra worked for UnderwritersLaboratories Inc. ("UL"), a provider of product safety testing andcertification. Debra was an officer of UL, serving in various positionsincluding Vice President and General Counsel (appointed 1989), Senior VicePresident - Administration Operations and Chief Legal Officer (appointed 1997)and Senior Vice President - External Affairs and Chief Administrative Officer(appointed 2001). In addition to the legal and compliance functions, Debra hadresponsibility for various operations including e-business, publications,quality, human resources, purchasing and governmental relationships.
