Bovis Homes Group PLC - Management Succession The Board of Bovis Homes Group PLC ("the Group") is pleased to announce newappointments in accordance with its management succession planning. Malcolm Harris (59) is to retire as Chief Executive on 2 July 2008, after 12years in the post, and will take over from Tim Melville-Ross as non-executiveChairman with effect from 3 July 2008. Tim Melville-Ross will retire from theBoard and the Board recognises the significant contribution that Tim has madeover the past eleven years. In accordance with the provisions of the CombinedCode a consultation with major shareholders has taken place on the appointmentof Malcolm Harris as non-executive Chairman, with a positive and supportiveoutcome. As background to the appointment, the Board considered the depth of hisknowledge and experience, recognised in the shareholder consultation, inaddition to his outstanding track record and the Board concluded thatshareholders would benefit from his continued contribution and involvement withthe Group. David Ritchie (38), who was appointed Group Managing Director on 2 January 2007and had been Group Finance Director since 2002, has been appointed ChiefExecutive with effect from 3 July 2008. David Ritchie has a strong track recordof achievement since his appointment as a director in 2002. He has had closeinvolvement in all aspects of the Group's strategy and operations and hasrecently successfully concluded the acquisition of Elite Homes Group Limited. In addition to the appointment of the new Chairman and Chief Executive, theBoard has decided to strengthen its capabilities with the appointment of anexternal independent non-executive Deputy Chairman, who will also undertake therole of Senior Independent Director currently held by John Warren, and a furtherannouncement will be made in due course. Tim Melville-Ross, Chairman said: "I am delighted that Malcolm Harris will be succeeding me as Chairman. He hasalready made a massive contribution to the Group, and as Chairman he will beable to contribute from his great experience to continuing growth in shareholdervalue." Bovis Homes Limited has recently appointed three new Regional ManagingDirectors, Mark Lewis (Eastern Region), Malcolm Pink (South West Region) andDavid Shard (Northern Region). These appointments have strengthened seniormanagement and added to management succession options.
