Low & Bonar PLC18 December 2006 Minor typographical amendments have been made to RNS 0783O released at 07:00today. No material changes have been made. The full amended text is shown below. 18 December 2006 Low & Bonar - Appointment of non-executive directors Low & Bonar PLC, the specialist materials group, is pleased to announce thatFolkert Blaisse and Martin Flower have been appointed as non-executive Directorswith effect from 1 January 2007. Chris Davies will retire from the Board witheffect from 31 December 2006. Folkert Blaisse, aged 61, was Chairman of Colbond between 2004 and 2006 untilthe business was acquired by Low & Bonar in July 2006. He has significantexpertise in the speciality materials market and is currently a Director ofAcordis BV, Chairman of Diolen BV and Chairman of Corsadi BV. Folkert waspreviously chief executive officer of Acordis from 1999 until 2006 and has heldseveral senior roles at Akzo Nobel as from 1971, culminating in his appointmentin 1998 as executive board member of Akzo Nobel NV. In 1999 Akzo Nobel divestedAccordis. Martin Flower, aged 60, is currently Chairman of Croda Internatioal Plc,Chairman of Alpha Airports Group plc and is a non-executive director of MorganCrucible Company Plc. Previously he was Chief Executive of Coats plc between2001 and 2003, a company in which he spent his entire executive career havingjoined in 1968. He held a variety of senior positions at Coats including anumber of overseas posts. Commenting on the appointments, Duncan Clegg, Chairman of Low & Bonar said: "I am immensely grateful to Chris Davies for his vital contribution to the Boardduring his four years as a non-executive. We wish him well in his retirement. Iam delighted to welcome Messrs Blaisse and Flower to the Board.
