Board Appointment

Micro Focus International plc ("Micro Focus"; LSE MCRO.L), the international software product group, announces the appointment of Karen Geary as a Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.

Mrs Geary has more than 20 years of international Human Resources and business transformation experience across a variety of industries, managing organisations through periods of large scale change, acquisition and integration. She spent 15 years at The Sage Group plc, a FTSE 100 business and the world's largest provider of business software to SMEs, where she was Group Human Resources Director and a member of the Executive Committee. Prior to Sage, Mrs Geary was Human Resources Director of Stena Line, the Swedish transport and leisure operator and spent her early career in blue chip global businesses.

Having joined WANdisco plc in February 2014, Mrs Geary is currently responsible for Human Resources and Internal Communications and is a member of the executive management team.

Commenting on the appointment, Kevin Loosemore, Executive Chairman of Micro Focus International plc, said:

"I am delighted to welcome Karen to the Board. She has a first rate track record as a highly successful HR executive in the technology sector. Karen's experience is extremely relevant as we integrate the recently acquired Attachmate Group."

Mrs Geary holds no other Board positions. There are no other details to be disclosed in respect of the requirements of paragraph 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules of the UK Financial Services Authority.
