UK Coal PLC28 November 2005 28 November 2005 UK COAL PLC BOARD CHANGE The Board of UK COAL wishes to advise that Patrick O'Brien, Director of Mining,has stepped down as a Director of the Company with immediate effect. In the short-term Pat will continue with the Company on a consultative basis toassist with obtaining planning permission for the extensive surface mine landbank. Pat (63) was executive director responsible for surface mine operations. Hejoined the Company in 1969, and having held many senior positions he waspromoted to the Board in 1995. The Board wishes to thank Pat for his valued contribution as a Board member overthe past 12 years and for his service to the Company.
