Cupid plc (AIM: CUP), the online dating operator, is pleased to announce the appointment of Phil Gripton as Chief Executive Officer of the Company, effective from 1st December 2013. Bill Dobbie remains on the Board as a Non-Executive Director.

 

Phil has been MD of Dating Services for the past year overseeing the evolution of the Dating business and development of the longer term future strategy. Phil was deeply involved in the sale of the Company's "casual assets" and remains active in the subsequent separation activities. He has also overseen the repositioning and rebranding of the Company's key traditional brands whilst reshaping the organization to execute on its strategy.

 

Prior to his tenure at Cupid, Phil was MD of bigmouthmedia and following its acquisition by the leading marketing and technology services agency LBi, he became COO. As COO of LBi, he led the evolution of the agency with particular focus on the growth of the media business and its integration into the wider group. With a track record in creating and developing efficient, high-performing businesses, Phil has held senior leadership roles with technology businesses including Cable & Wireless, Energis, Parametric Technology Corporation and ICL Fujitsu.
