Board Changes

The Board of HomeServe plc ("HomeServe" or "the company") today announces that Brian Whitty, Executive Chairman, is to step down from the board on 31 March 2010 after 14 years of service. J M Barry Gibson, currently the senior independent non-executive director of HomeServe and non-executive director of the company since 2004, will succeed Mr Whitty as Non-Executive Chairman on 1 April 2010.

Richard Harpin, Chief Executive of HomeServe, commented:

"On behalf of the Board and the company, I would like to thank Brian for his outstanding contribution to the development of HomeServe over the last 14 years both as Executive Chairman since the de-merger in April 2004 and before that as Chief Executive of South Staffordshire Group. During his time at HomeServe, Brian has been instrumental in helping to grow and develop the business from its origins within South Staffordshire Water to the international business it is today. On a personal note, I would like to thank Brian for his leadership of the board since 2004 and his guidance since he joined the business in 1995 and wish him every success in the future.

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Barry Gibson as Non-Executive Chairman. Barry brings a wealth of experience to the role having held a number of senior executive and non-executive director roles including senior independent director at HomeServe. In addition, his extensive experience of both the retail sector and developing international businesses makes him an excellent choice to take HomeServe through its next stage of development to become a truly international home assistance membership business."
