Aviva PLC07 December 2005 7 December 2005 AVIVA CONFIRMS BOARD CHANGES Further to the announcement made on 10 August 2005, Aviva plc ("Aviva") confirmsthat Pehr Gyllenhammar will retire as chairman and director of Aviva with effectfrom 31 December 2005. Mr Gyllenhammar will be succeeded as chairman by LordSharman of Redlynch, OBE, with effect from 1 January 2006. Lord Sharman joinedthe board in January 2005. Aviva also confirms that George Paul and Elizabeth Vallance, independentnon-executive directors, will retire from the Aviva board with effect from 31December 2005. As stated in the Company's 2004 annual report and accounts, bothMr Paul and Lady Vallance have served in excess of nine years with the company,or one of the legacy companies, and are retiring in line with the board'srotation and succession plans for its non-executive directors.
