Appointment of new Non-Executive Director

Berendsen plc is pleased to announce that it has appointed Maarit Aarni-Sirviö as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 1 March 2014.

Maarit held a number of senior executive positions within Borealis AG one of Europe's largest producers of plastics and was President and CEO of Mint of Finland. She is currently a Non-Executive Director of Wärtsilä, a Finnish company manufacturing and servicing power sources, Board Member of ecoDa an independent association advocating good corporate governance, Senior Advisor at Eera Finland Oyj, a management consulting business, and Secretary General of the Directors' Institute of Finland. Previously Maarit has been a non-executive director of Vattenfall Ab (in Sweden) and of Ponsse Oyj and Rautaruukki Oyj.
