Electrocomponents PLC23 June 2005 For immediate release: 23 June 2005 At the preliminary results on 25 May 2005, Electrocomponents plc, the majorinternational high service distributor of electronic, electromechanical, andindustrial supplies, announced that it was implementing the strategy to focus on the EEM and C&U market opportunities which the Board believes will lead to asubstantial improvement in the Group's medium term performance. To drive forward our strategy and ensure that the programme is delivered withinthe 3-year time frame, Electrocomponents is reorganising its internal managementstructures. As a consequence of this reorganisation the role of Chief ProcessOfficer, an Executive Director role fulfilled by Richard Butler, will cease toexist. Richard has played a major role in the evolution of our strategy and fullysupports these changes. As his role is now nearing completion, Richard hastendered his resignation from the Board and will leave the Board on 30 June2005. Bob Lawson, Chairman of Electrocomponents, said: "During his 18 year career withElectrocomponents, Richard has fulfilled many roles from Company Secretary toleading the change management activities, creating the matrix structure, thedevelopment of Asia and latterly as an Executive Director responsible forGroupwide processes. Richard has made a huge contribution to the development ofthe Group. Further, he has always discharged his responsibilities to the highestprofessional standards, particularly during this latter phase. It is unfortunatethat there is no suitable role for Richard going forward but we all wish himevery success for the future".
