London, 6 August 2012: Ophir Energy plc ("Ophir" or "the Company") announces that Patrick Spink has tendered his resignation from the Board in order to enable him to focus on other business interests. Paddy with therefore step down from his role as an Independent Non-Executive Director, effective today.

Nicholas Smith, Non-Executive Chairman of Ophir said:
