CAG today announces that Roy Pitchford has been appointed CEO of the Company, following the decision of current CEO Greg Hunter to leave the Company.
Roy has more than 20 years' senior management and executive experience in southern Africa, 13 of which were in the mining industry, including serving as CEO of Cluff Resources Zimbabwe Limited, Delta Gold Zimbabwe (Pty) Limited, Zimbabwe Platinum Mines Limited and African Platinum Plc. He is also a past president of the Chamber of Mines of Zimbabwe. Roy has stepped down as CEO of African Minerals Limited in order to undertake the full time role of CEO of CAG.
Roy Lander, Chairman of CAG, thanked Greg for his significant contribution to CAG and, on behalf of the Company, wished him every success in the future. He also commented that he believed Roy Pitchford was well placed to lead the Company at this time.
The Board of CAG will be continuing to review the Company's corporate strategy and financing options including, inter alia, options for raising equity and options for the disposal of non core assets.
