DIRECTORATE CHANGE

Antofagasta plc announces that following Mr. Nelson Pizarro's appointment as the Chief Executive Officer of Corporacion Nacional del Cobre de Chile (Codelco) with effect from 1 September 2014 Mr. Pizarro has resigned from the Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director with effect from the same date.

Mr. Jean-Paul Luksic, Chairman, said on behalf of the Board, "Nelson has been a member of the Board since 2012. We would like to thank him for his valuable contribution to Antofagasta during this time and wish him every success for the future in his important new role."
