Adrian Auer appointed as Senior Independent Director of Umeco plc
Umeco, the advanced composite materials and supply chain services company, announces that it has appointed Adrian Auer as Non-Executive Director and Senior Independent Director with effect from 30 April 2010. Adrian Auer has also become a member of the audit committee from that date.
Adrian Auer holds a number of senior Board positions. He is Chairman of Shanks Group plc and Readymix plc, Non-Executive Director of Electrocomponents plc and Chairman of the charity Addaction.
He has held the position of Finance Director in a number of major companies, notably in the building materials and construction sectors, in addition to senior finance positions with BP and ICI.
Neil Johnson, Chairman of Umeco, said:
"We are delighted that Adrian has agreed to join the Board as Senior Independent Director. His breadth of international corporate experience, both in Executive and Non-Executive roles, will be invaluable to the Board."
Until June 2009 Adrian Auer was a Non-Executive Director at Filtrona plc. He was a Non-Executive Director of Foseco Limited (formerly Foseco plc) until April 2008, Hiscox plc until December 2006 and Bespak plc until April 2006. There are no further details that are required to be disclosed in respect of his appointment under LR 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority.
