Applied Graphene Materials plc
("the Group" or "the Company")
Directorate Change
Applied Graphene Materials plc, the producer of specialty graphene materials, announces that Claudio Marinelli has resigned as a Director of the Company with effect from 27 January 2015 and will leave the business on this date to pursue other business interests. The Board would like to thank Claudio for his contribution to the Group and wishes him well for the future.
A process to identify a commercial director has commenced, although this new appointment is not expected to be a main Board position. In the meantime, Jon Mabbitt, Chief Executive Officer, will oversee commercial and business development activities.
Since admission to AIM in November 2013, the Company's business development function has been significantly strengthened, with the recruitment of four individuals who are each technically and commercially experienced in the Group's three core target markets of advanced composites and polymers, coatings and functional fluids. The Group recently announced that November 2014 had been a record month for the number of samples provided to customers and that feedback received on the transfer of the properties of graphene into other materials was encouraging.

Notes to Editors
Applied Graphene Materials was founded by Professor Karl Coleman in 2010 with its operations and processes based on technology that he initially developed at Durham University. The Group was admitted to AIM in November 2013, raising £11 million, and is based at the Wilton Site on Teesside.
The Group has developed a proprietary bottom-up process for the production of high purity graphene nanoplatelets and owns the intellectual property and know-how behind this process. Applied Graphene Materials' process is based on sustainable, readily available raw materials and therefore does not rely on the supply of graphite, unlike a number of other graphene production techniques. It is capable of producing high purity graphene using a continuous process. Applied Graphene Materials provides dispersion and product integration expertise to deliver solutions for a wide range of applications.
