BOARD APPOINTMENT AT UNITED DRUG PLC

The Board of United Drug plc (the 'Company') is today pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Lisa Ricciardi as a non-executive director of the Company with effect from 14 June 2013. Ms Ricciardi will also join the Risk, Acquisitions and Finance Committee.

Ms Ricciardi was senior vice president of business development at Medco Health Solutions Inc. from 2010 to 2012. Prior to this she was a venture partner with Essex Woodlands, a New York based private equity company, following a 19 year career at Pfizer Inc., latterly as senior vice president of licencing and development.

The Company also announces that Philip Toomey has assumed the position of senior independent non-executive director with immediate effect, replacing Gary McGann. Mr McGann continues to serve as a non-executive director, chairman of the Remuneration Committee and member of each of the Nominations Committee and the Risk, Acquisitions and Finance Committee.
