RSA Insurance Group plc appoints Non-Executive Director

RSA Insurance Group plc (RSA) today announces the appointment of Hugh Mitchell to its Board as a Non-Executive Director as of 26 September 2012.
Hugh is currently Chief Human Resources and Corporate Officer of Royal Dutch Shell plc where he has had a long and successful career.
Commenting on the appointment, RSA Chairman John Napier, said: "I am pleased to welcome Hugh to the Board. He will bring valuable experience and insights to the Board, to the Remuneration Committee and the Company generally.
Hugh said: "I'm pleased to be joining the Board of RSA. I look forward to working for a company in an essential industry with a long established heritage, facing the challenges and opportunities of the future."
Hugh is a member of the Shell Executive Committee, the Board for the Centre for Advanced Human Resources at Cornell University in the USA, and a Foundation Board member of IMD business school in Lausanne, Switzerland.
He was appointed a Fellow of the National Academy of Human Resources in the USA in 2009 and is also an Honorary Vice-President of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (UK).
There is no information required to be disclosed in respect of his appointment under Listing Rule 9.6.13R.
