Lonrho Africa PLC05 May 2006 LONRHO AFRICA PLC ("Lonrho Africa" or "the Company") DIRECTORATE CHANGES Lonrho Africa is pleased to announce the appointment of Martin Horgan as aNon-Executive Director to the Lonrho Africa Board with effect from the end ofMay 2006. This appointment follows Richard Wilkinson's decision to step down asa Non-Executive Director as of 3 May 2006 after 7 years with the Company. "I would like to take this opportunity to thank Richard for his dedication toLonrho Africa over the years. He was instrumental in changing the fortunes ofthe Company and allowing us to begin the process of re-establishing the LonrhoAfrica name. We wish him all the best for the future", said David Lenigas,Lonrho Africa's Chief Executive and Chairman. Mr. Horgan, 32, has more than 10 years experience in the mining sector and mostrecently was an Associate Director at Barclays Capital where he worked on theMining & Metals Team of the Investment Banking Division. Prior to this Mr.Horgan was a Mining Engineer at Steffen, Robertson & Kirsten where he carriedout a wide range of projects across the globe. After graduating Mr. Horgan beganhis mining career working across a range of pan-African operations and projectsas a Mining Engineer with Gold Fields of South Africa. Mr. Horgan holds aBachelor of Engineering Honours Degree from the University of Leeds. Welcoming the appointment David Lenigas, Lonrho Africa's Chief Executive andChairman, said: "I am pleased that Martin Horgan has agreed to join the Board ofLonrho Africa.
