DIRECTORATE CHANGE

Electric Word plc (ELE), the specialist information publisher, announces today that Dominic Jacquesson will be stepping down from the Board on 31 January 2009 prior to leaving the Company to pursue other business interests having served as a Director since 28 February 2002. Joining the Board will be Emma Rogers, 30, head of Electric Word's education division.

Chief Executive Julian Turner commented: "Dominic has been instrumental in the growth of Electric Word. After more than seven years' service he has decided to take advantage of other opportunities, a decision which he agreed to postpone from August to see out the remainder of 2008. The Board would like to thank him for his unwavering commitment and contribution to the business and wishes him every success in the future. I am delighted to welcome Emma Rogers, who brings to the Board great talent and her many years' experience at Electric Word, previously as Group Head of Marketing and currently in leading our professional education businesses."

Emma Rogers is a Director of Optimus Professional Publishing Limited, Speechmark Publishing Limited and Special Education Publishing Limited. There are no other disclosures in relation to Emma Rogers required under paragraph (g) of Schedule Two to the AIM Rules for Companies.
